Almost hitting the road. Filling out forms for customs, Canada could not give less of a shit about my car. USA is persnicketty about exports. If they saw the car they might not think I stole it.

Canada would probably ask “but y tho” if they cared enough. US Customs guys are probably afraid you’re starting some kind of Corvair-based prescription drugs cartel.

Saw you bought a fan belt. The magic trick for fan belts is that when the engine is cold, you should be able to turn the alternator by hand. The belts used to break/flip because the spec in the manual was too tight.
So if Canada doesn’t care about old cars, I can maybe start shopping again....

it was an incorrect fan belt. shredded 9 miles from Raton, new mexico. had to make one out of my bootlaces (red wing, quality laces) 3rd attempt made it a few miles. most of the rest was down hill. made it to autozone, bought 2.

My dad had a Corvair new - I think he once made a fan belt out of is date’s nylons.

if it’s 15 tears old. Canada will let you import and drive whatever you want. To the point you see mitsubishi FTOs at the grocery store and the backlanes of the hood are littered with wrecked skylines. RHD hilux surf is also quite common.

Is the export rule still in place that the seller needs some form of tax id?
